Les Mis Thought
I’m not sure anyone’s thought of this yet but I’m pretty sure “One Day More” is going to be the best scene in musical movie history. Like, if you really think about it, they’re marching to war, to build the barricade. It’s a rallying cry for a people in distress. I’m going to need a box of tissues for that one scene alone.

New Pictures From Les Miserables: Hugh Jackman dreams a dream…
As musical extravaganza Les Miserables inches towards the big screen waving a tricolour over its head and whooping in a vaguely French accent, our excitement levels surge. Tom Hooper’s adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic novel promises big tunes, tense drama, romance and the kind of old-school Hollywood spectacle not seen since the heyday of MGM and RKO.
These new pics from the film have come to light over at USA Today (here: http://mediagallery.usatoday.com/Les+Miserables-From+Stage+to+Screen/G3938). They offer more of the intimicacy than the spectacle of Hooper’s movie, but show Hugh Jackman’s reinvented crim Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as pitiless lawman Javert, and Anne Hathaway as Joan of Arc lookalike Fantine, a woman forced to work as a prostitute and sell her hair to provide for her young daughter Cosette.
In the spirit of the stage musical, all of the film’s dialogue is sung. Susan Boyle fans - and surely that’s all of us - will want to know that ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ duties will fall to Hathaway. Here’s hoping Crowe gets to cover at least one 30 Odd Foot Of Grunts track.

TH: (laughs) I didn’t know that! They get a Hiddleboner. That doesn’t seem to be related to my name any more! Hiddleston, yeah, but the boner…Hiddlestoner, I can see that, because my name is there. Hiddleboner…I…yeah. Okay. Wow. I should be hugely flattered, shouldn’t I? I am enormously honored and flattered.
I have a lot of feelings about this series of gifs right now.
I mean, my god, Benedict’s entire face is laugh lines. You can see where one muscle coaxes the next, and how it begins at his dimples from years of smiling. It gets me to thinking about how our lives show on our faces.
Honestly, my eyes well up a little thinking about how well Ben must live his life in order to have evidence of authentic happiness and good humour etched on his face like that.
Benedict, all fangirliness aside: if I ever meet you, please teach me how to be as open and good-natured as you are. You’re such an inspiration.
